  1. Platypus are not the only egg laying mammal. Echidnas do too. Platypus are particularly unusual, being more like reptiles than any other mammal. A true living "missing link". Uluru has to be seen in a lightning storm because the colours are absolutely incredible then. It does get snowed upon too, but to see that in person you would have to be incredibly lucky or live nearby for many years.
