For me the three standout jumpers are Sydney, Brisbane and St Kilda. Sydney with the opera house logo tells you exactly what city you are dealing with - no other team does that. Including the Red and White colours that go back to the 1860's (footy team dates are a bit of a sore point with me), the Red V dates back to 1932, and the nickname of the swans comes from then too. The newest version rather than just looking like a red v makes the white sort of look like the swan's wings too. It's basically brilliant from a historical perspective as well as a design perspective. Brisbane also has a huge historical element, as the Brisbane/Fitzroy merger details show both clubs BBFFC - BB (Brisbane Bears) FFC (Fitzroy football club) and respects the colours of both (although they did drop the Brisbane Bears cartoon logo). The modern "paddlepop" lion look with the historic lion look is great too. St Kilda haven't ever really changed. That historic logo and colour scheme is just better than Carlton's, Collingwood's or Essendon's. IMHO the footy team dates give Melbourne the oldest club status, Geelong Second and Carlton third. St Kilda is getting ripped off there.

West coast definitely had the best of the modern jumper designs in the transitioning to AFL era.
