  2. "I didn't realise that this is actually a thing". Erm, Germany basically invented Christmas. You know, Good King Wenceslaus wasn't from Iowa, he was from Bohemia, which was part of the Holy Roman Empire, which was basically part of Germany from 800 AD to 1806 AD.
