  1. As a former pizza driver the standard was to round up so no-one is fiddling around with small change. That level of tipping I am comfortable with.

  2. Tipping culture is grifting culture. Make employers pay proper wages, and stop the customers from creating a black market pay system. Bosses stop underpaying. Serving staff end up paying taxes just like the customers have to. Why should customers subsidise the bosses wage bill? Why should serving staff get tax free income? Do the kitchen staff who are in the heat of the kitchen sweating for hours and actually cook your meal actually get their fair share of the tips? There is so much broken about tipping culture. This is why the rest of the world doesn't work this way. And now we see stories on social media of the rage entitled waitstaff have of expecting you to pay another 20-25% of your bill for their benefit. Times are tough, man. People can't afford to pay all that extra for a smile.

Honestly, if I faced that before I knew how good my service was, how could I tip? More, how could I trust that my food wasn't tampered with or spat in if I didn't tip enough to make them happy? I'd walk out the door. That's blackmail, pure and simple. I'm not gonna face "an offer you can't refuse" every time I do a transaction. Seriously, people, move the heck out of the United States.
