  1. Where I live we got 1100mm in 3 days. 1.1 metres or nearly 4 feet (over 43 inches). This is not an exaggeration. I'm lucky though, no real damage to the house. Couldn't get to it for something like 6 hours so was driving around rescuing cars in the Navara (Nissan Hardbody to you). Sadly about half an hour after I stopped someone got washed away. I've actually just got back (first beer) from plumbing in a mate's hot water service, as his floated up and bent all the copper pipes in his house. We blanked it all off a couple of days ago then waited for the waters to subside to repair it tonight as I'm going back to work tomorrow, so 8 pm repair job it was (just got home after 11:30pm). He lives South West of Brisbane and I'm in the North East. Sadly his street is where someone else got washed away. Brisbane has been relatively lucky compared to Gympie and Lismore. The main dams upstream of Brisbane were being held at very low water levels, so were able to take in a lot of water, and are designed for emergency flood storage too. Wivenhoe Dam took something like 1.4 Million Megalitres in 3 days. 1,400,000,000,000 litres.
