  1. Don't handle bats. Hendravirus, Lyssavirus, Rabies etc. Not even dead ones. They do tend to die from heat stroke though.

  2. Two years ago on this day I was in the Simpson Desert. We saw 55C (131 Fahrenheit). We made it back to Birdsville by Sunset. Sunset was 46.9 C (116.5 Fahrenheit).
