  3. 13:17 sounds great until the quail eggs. We have them here in Oz, although rare, and honestly pretty good but are they really a thing? Do you even have quail?

One of the best cultural traditions I have come across when travelling was shaking up hotel breakfast from the continental breakfast or anglosphere fried breakfasts to south east asian cold or reheated fried rice breakfasts. Rice pudding/porridge breakfasts are great too. you wouldn't do them at home but they are a really good immersion into local culture.
