$10 says it's a motherboard issue.

@Gamesemag funny. but I've had AMD's on and off from the K6, through the Athlon and Thunderbird, Second Gen Ryzen to current Zen 4. They've all been stable. They all did their job just fine. If you've had stability issues, it's probably because of the motherboard brand you used, or you thought that because they were unlocked for overclocking you could just wind them up 50% like the good old days of a Celeron 300. The reason why Intel started locking down their gear was the amount of complaints from customers who destroyed their gear by overclocking the hell out of it.

Imho Jay's got two issues there. 1 is the motherboard, and 2 is the 7950x3d. A 7800x3d and a non Asus motherboard is the best bet.

@tim3172 basically both Intel and AMD have had issues with running different cores with different specifications in the one CPU. 12th gen intel had huge problems, to the point that many users were manually turning off their e-cores just to play games. AMD really only has this problem on the 7950X3D. Windows scheduler WILL get better at this stuff over time, but for now the best solutions are: a) buy a 7800X3D or a standard 7900X/7950X. Don't get a 7900X3D or 7950X3D. b) buy a 13th gen intel and make sure you run all the latest patches

I've certainly had NO stability issues andnot one BSOD or crash since switching to Zen 4. Did have some dramas getting expo timings running, but that might have been a bios thing or just not kowing how to activate things properly (which I doubt, 3rd straight MSI B series board). The only real drama I see is the insanely long boot times because of the DDR5 memory. I've sometimes wished I was still on 11th gen for that reason alone.
