  1. There's more for a man to get from being single. He doesn't have to waste his resources on you. He can use them to invest. Buy a house earlier. Invest in shares. Spend more time working at his job. My first house didn't come about until the end of my first long term relationship. We broke up in under 3 months of me buying that house. 10 years. My second house came just 6 months after I broke up a 4 1/2 year relationship, 8 years later. In the 11 years after that, mostly single, I bought 2 more houses, a classic car, a new harley, $50k in shares, renovated my first house, and so on. Why did that timetable accelerate despite rapidly increasing house prices? Because my resources were not going to subsidising some woman or her kids lifestyle.
