  1. Chiko rolls were really a Victorian and to a lesser degree South Australian thing, although they did sort of make it into NSW. IMHO spring rolls have dominance in Queensland, New South Wales. Chiko rolls worked well as a "footy" food and IO think that's why they were so successful in the states below the Barassi Line (Wagga Wagga being in the Riverina district of NSW is below the Barassi line). They're now made in Sydney, not their traditional home of Bendigo. I wouldn't say people go to Bunnings just for the snags, but you usually get one while you're there.

  2. Kangaroo meat needs to be cooked quite rare, so it gets tough if it's not really pink. That's why your first piece tastes good.
