@pleaseno779 We made plenty of other guns, and had multiple factories punching firearms out. Mostly the Lithgow Small Arms factory, of course. But also Lysaght, Carmichael, Electrolux and others manufactured firearms during WW2. As well as other manufacturers making components, whether metal or wood, including say sporting goods manufacturers like Slazenger for the timber of the rifles.

@dracarysblackfyre6030 Lysaght made them not Lithgow. Lithgow was busy pumping out Lee Enfield 1 3* for all they could punch out. If Lithgow got involved it might have made the gun look prettier but they worked just fine as they were.

We used them until the early 70's, so it outlasted all of it's ww2 contemporaries

@baneofbanes Facts, dude. Many American companies were more interested in making a profit than winning a war. Backed up by Korea, Vietnam, Iraq, Afghanistan.

Americans: Claim "patriotism", but expected a 300% profit on the Thompson during war production. Australians: don't go waving flags everywhere, but are happy to make Owen guns at a 1.5% profit. Shows what Americans are really patriotic about. Not defending their country, but making money.
