  1. In order to be considered an "authoritative" source you'd need to be interviewing more primary sources (politicians, lawyers, etc) or performing more investigative journalism. From an algorithmic standpoint, you're not really any different from a right-wing talk commentator. Algorithms (rightly so) don't care about political affiliation.

  2. From a logistical standpoint, you could start by interviewing local politicians - mayors and such - who will be very happy to get greater exposure. That cooperation would benefit them as well as you, and would serve to "legitimize" your content in the view of the algorithm.
