More than 250 patients a week could be dying unnecessarily, due to long waits in A&E in E The Royal College of Emergency Medicine analysed the 1.5 million who waited 12 hours or more to be admitted in 2023. A previous data study had calculated the level of risk of people dying after long waits to start treatment and found it got worse after five hours. 250 x 52 = 13,000 a year. Just A&E

More than 200 million medication errors occur in NHS per year, say researchers A study has revealed an estimated 237 million medication errors occur in the NHS in England every year, and avoidable adverse drug reactions (ADRs) cause hundreds of deaths. Researchers from the Universities of York, Manchester and Sheffield report that an estimated 712 deaths result from avoidable ADRs. They say, however, that ADRs could be a contributory factor to between 1,700 and 22,303 deaths a year.

@ShamanMcLamie Perhaps the NHS fanboy wants some statistics. ============= 20,000 a year killed by "avoidable mistakes" Preventable deaths due to problems in care in English acute hospitals: a retrospective case record review study - BMJ ============= 1. Peer reviewed 2. Just acute hospitals, not GPs, not pharmacist errors. 3. Just England - not Wales, Scotland! or Northern Island, Isle of Man, ...

@kwhufc5769 I presume you mean, are the foreign doctors. I did an analysis of the medical hearings. You see from the hearings where the doctors were trained. 1. UK doctors are likely to be struck off for none medical reasons. 2. Some doctors are struct off for political reason regarding a certain recent medical experiment. 3. Foreign doctors make up a disproportionate number of those taken to the hearings. 4. The no case to answer is higher in foreign doctors. On 4, I suspect that's down to people making them complaint are more likely to complain if its a foreign doctor. But point 3 stands, the level is lower. Some of the cases are truly horrific.
