  5.  @johnnagle7702  The debasement comes about because they are borrowing to tax people. It's taxes that repay the debts. So in an effort to "Make it easier" to repay the borrowing they cause inflation - the debasement. Problem is that 90% of the debts are pensions and inflation linked. You cannot inflate your way out of inflation linked debt, by definition.
