  3. Given she's manouvering, look at the scenario. Starmer says he will stay on until his replacement is elected. If the Labour Party leader resigns, then a contest for a new leader is automatically triggered. The new leader needs 20% of MPs to get on the ballot. Then its Alternative vote until one gets a majority. ie. 50% + 1 vote. So she doesn't get the job by default.
