  1. I disagree. He was in my view evil. His idea to plug the short fall in the state's pension debt was to loot people's savings. ie. Take all private pensions, to pay civil servants theirs. Replace it with a 'promise' to pay. Then of course when it comes to pay, sorry folks we've spent all the money. So he's in the same club as Bernie Maddoff. The difference is that Maddoff ripped off the rich, Field and co rip off the poor.
