  2.  @JohnJones-xk6rg  That’s a secondary effect. Correct it’s evil behaviour. But it starts with the design. Questions are then when did they realise it’s wrong? Why didn’t they act then? My bet is management said we can’t. Perhaps even carry on and we will fix it later. It then never gets fixed

  5. Yes. The idea that you do accounting real time is bonkers. What was needed was a persistent message queue. Transactions from the branches pushed on the queue. Then they are processed by taking them off the queue, doing the accounting/inventory, with a two phase commit.
