  3. The time after is not the core issue. It used to be in the UK, that if the victim lived for a year and a day, it wasn't murder. That law has been changed. We have one case recently where they were convicted, and 10 years later the person died as a result of the attack. Now they are going back to court to get the sentence increased and the attacker recalled to prison.
