  1. Simple discipline has always worked for me, both as a child and as a parent now. My daughters know, if they don't listen, there's consequences. But that also requires me to be a parent, to set the rules, and to enforce those rules.

  3.  @BlazeDuskdreamer  , there's a saying, "Knowledge is to be gained. Wisdom is what to do with the knowledge." Intelligence is a measure of how easily/quickly one is able to acquire knowledge. Wisdom is what to do with what's acquired. Knowing the law of gravity doesn't mean much until you actually fall down and realize, "Maybe I should be more careful when and where I jump." Kids don't have wisdom. Wisdom comes from experience.

I'd bet, if you even have kids, your kids are rebellious little shits (and you don't even realize it). My daughters, I get compliments about their behavior. I doubt you can say the same, with that attitude. They're learning from you - again, assuming you even have kids - and what they're learning is, "Daddy will explain it to me, and kowtow to me. I get my way!" We'll see in 20 years what happens though, won't we?
