  1. a volcano can be active for dozens of years without it actually erupting so i get where you are coming from but .... Mount Fuji is considered an active volcano and thousands of people climb it every summer. I would have to check the last eruption and activity to see if this case was somehow predictable but then, why would authorities allow tourists there?
