yeah if they just wanted to cause loss and trouble for the company they could just open the gates. But no, they decide to cause trouble, distress, financial loss and other problems to thousands of people and they still demand that people need to "show respect" and be understanding of their situation. Are they understanding of those thousands of people´s situations when they are stranded? and most of them with way worse jobs by the way.

@oli20210 I dont agree. I've been there and this "method" was never an option for me. I hate disturbing people, i never want to even ask for help for anything. I guess it goes with each person's personality. Even if you are considering suicide, unless you are mentally insane and totally unable to control your actions, you know what you are doing and you can make choices. However I wish people would choose to live.

ok.. but in that context, in which they are not doing anything, why not be on the phone...? I would understand if you say that people go to have lunch with someone and then they are on the phone, yes that's terrible., but in a situation in which you are not doing anything... ? why not?

they dont wear those caps though... just because they are on TV. i dont even recall seeing any staff wearing those, like, ever. Very, very rare.

yeah but there is just one thing i dont like about japanese in this respect. They get in the train no matter what. They will literally crush people who are already inside. No one stays on the platform, even if the next train is coming in just 1 or 2 minutes. I am telling you, we Londoners dont know what a really packed train is. In japan you can feel pressure on all your body, you cant even move your arms, you can barely breathe (on rush hours and certain lines only, though).

nah, that's just about 2 hours per day. The rest of the day is not especially crowded. I always sit on the tube.

@bigniper dont put everyone in the same page. I've been there and from the "methods" i considered, this wasnt one, because I hate disturbing people. So no, many people know they are going to die, either by disease or suicide and they dont go around fucking everyone because it's all the same to them.

@patrickbeart7091 i dont think they would, that´s just guessing.

There are many unfair or not good enough working conditions in so many jobs, but it´s always those few only that make strikes, affecting thousands of customers. No, we don´t have to feel empathy towards your working conditions and dont agree, and dont find it justified. I work in a store in conditions that... well, I could be on strike every single day but i will not choose a form of protest that will affect my customers.

they also give fines to relatives of people that jump on the tracks, because it causes huge disruptions. They hope to discourage people from doing this.

@Chill2293 so you are assuming that all suicidal people are mentally ill. Well, that is not true.
2
@Peasant_of_Pontus so if you think a suicidal person has a right to not give a f.. about others and mess up everything and everybody on their suicidal process, I guess you will agree with what the German pilot did also. Not in the same scale obviously but on the same line.

@LaWendeltreppe i wouldnt want anyone to kill themselves, I've been there and I was really hopeless. But, let's say you are gonna do it, there are other ways. Sorry to say but it's true. and people, even if desperate, can still make choices.

yes, I have been there and it is possible to make choices. I dont like when people say "oh they are not in their right mind to consider the consequences blah blah" , no, even in such state of mind you can still make choices... unfortunately i tried to end my life in one ocassion but i didnt involve anyone. I hate disturbing others.

some people will think that this is bullshit because it's not that hot in london, well, it's not that hot but when it's 30 or over outside (which fortunately does not happen many times...) it feels like 40+ inside the train, plus no ventilation at all, and it's difficult to breathe.

on FB, in a local group, people called me a cunt, uncaring, idiot, etc, for saying that people should not commit suicide by jumping in front of a train.
