  2. when you do a twisting somersault (or any twisting dive) off a diving board, you don't actually perform a perfect end-over-end form because of the twist's effect on your polar moment of inertia. your body will be slightly canted to one side (dependent upon which direction you are twisting) and that is due to this effect. the twist affects the somersault form more than visa-versa. consider the reason for this- now you're getting into some intense physics.

  3. the flip-flop is because you are imparting a twist on the hammer as you initiate the somersault- see my post above. if you practice a bit- you can learn to flip the hammer without twisting it. then maybe you should get back to work.
