  2. i showed your post to a couple of recyclers here in the san diego area and they just laughed at it. the yards who go thru the trouble of cleaning the catalyst just do it with a chop saw and dump out the pellets or slide the matrix out in two or more pieces, takes about 30 seconds. further cleaning/separation on a small scale is pointless cuz they don't lose enough money to justify it. the platinum is valuble- the tiny amounts of silver or rhodium are paid out like mixed- next to worthless. the gold bars got the biggest laugh.
