  3.  @CountYulith  the investigation revealed all the lug nuts still seized on their snapped-off studs found on the roadway. the nuts worked loose and the resulting trauma to the wheelstuds caused them all to fail like a set of dominoes. neglectful maintenance of the vehicle so you are 100% wrong. congratulations!

  6.  @bsboggyboy5432  THE nuts came loose and allowed the wheel to destroy what was left of the studs- according to patrolman brian pennings. they do appear to be aftermarket wheels- at least the wheel that came off. the tire was also flattened likely a result of the collision with the kia.

  18.  @deepfriedsammich  thats a no-brainer. you should check the hardware ANYHOW since you want to be able to remove them in an emergency. most shops will err on the side of caution so they often OVER-TORQUE the nuts.
