  4. To my knowledge the air vents are mostly there because the bag has to deflate again once it has done its job. Your car might still be in motion and require your control.

  7. Pretty much, though reality has far more "fps" than one could ever record. By analogy with an assembly line: You process 24 packets/second, no matter what. Someone has sliced a second into 24 packets and put them on the belt. It will take you 1 second to process them all, and the packets give little detail on that second. In contrast, these guys have sliced a second into thousands of packets and put them on your belt. At 24 p/s it takes forever, but you can see a lot of detail in each packet.
