When the Arab armies conquered the land, a considerable percentage of the Jewish population converted to Islam while many others had also embraced the Catholic religion. The Palestinian people are the direct descendants of the Jews who converted to the lslamic and Catholic faiths. By the time the first European Zionists arrived in Palestine in the late1800's the Palestinian people had been living in the land for centuries. In addition to those undeniable historical facts, those in modern times who claim to be Jews (Ashkenazim, Mizrachim and Sephardim) have no direct ancestral DNA connection with the Jews of ancient Biblical times because they intermarried the non-Jewish populations of the lands they migrated to.
