@someguy3766 Tbf, Switzerland has quite a few countries that the likes of Russia has to obliterate before it ever threatens Switzerland. So there's logic to it, it's just very short-sighted and very selfish logic.

@TheAustrianAnimations87 Nobody is talking about sanctioning Switzerland or Austria, but it is 100% understandable why people are frustrated with these countries which play both sides while hiding behind multiple safe and friendly countries. It'd be like the US selling Switzerland with peace with the Nazis; not funny when you're not at the forefront.

Don't be surprised when sanctions cripple Switzerland, then. Because that would make Switzerland into an enemy at that point.

@BrunnerNathan Idk how that's evil; you're advocating for helping people who want to destroy the West, that makes you an enemy. I'm also not from the EU, I'm just informing you of the logical reaction to your insanity. Edit: I'm a Westerner, but not from the EU.

@BrunnerNathan Did you mean "fine"? Either way, the US tends to be more lax than the EU in terms of corporate screwy stuff; so I seriously doubt there was fines for no reason. And there will be lots more reasons if the Swiss violates US and EU sanctions. Feel free to do so, but that locks the Swiss out from their biggest markets.

@BrunnerNathan Sanctions means "you can trade with them, but not trade with us too". That's not interference; that's people using their right to trade or NOT trade with whomever they want. You can't force us to trade with you, just as we can't force you to not trade with Russia. Don't be a hypocrite.

@locomotive-bg6sb That logic makes no sense. Switzerland selling weapons but then refusing to send more in a conflict is against any sane political/military national interests. You may as well demand that the West buys weapons just to buy loyalty, not for their actual defense. If you're saying that the West not bending over for random countries is the reason why they seek China, then the West welcomes that as China gets burned for not bending over into pretzels to appease the greedy.

@robgrey6183 When "succeeding" requires you to throw away all morals and likely risk your entire existence by pushing everyone else ahead in line so that you're last in line. Suffice it to say, 99% of the time that blows up in someone's face. It didn't in Switzerland's case, but if the US failed to breach into Europe or didn't join the war, then Switzerland would get blown up by the Nazis or Soviets and "disappeared" into work camps. That's not wisdom, that's braindead levels of short-sightedness.
