@AngelloDelNorte US lost in Vietnam in guerilla warfare. That's the hard part; conventional armies is the easy part. Russia has yet to deal with the hard part, which is why its so embarrassing how weak Russia is.

@LRRPFco52 Withdrawing in this case is a loss without having achieved the main objective; South Vietnam's long-term survival. No matter how you phrase it. Not the US Military's fault, since their objective was near-impossible considering the circumstances, but it is a defeat no matter how you describe it.

@serronserron1320 Yep, we know. You're not disproving the other guy's point. The Soviets took land, but mostly as a result of the surrender the US secured from Hirohito, not because they were deep in the war themselves. Soviet contribution was almost uniformly in Europe, not at all in Asia.

@Inferdesu In politics, the public opinion is what matters; and Ukraine seems to have it atm. OP's opinion also means nothing.

IG Farben Uh, why not? The USS Liberty wasn't important at all, and the US got compensation.
