@NisuUuno Having governments and schools be secular doesn't mean literally suppressing religion, anymore than having not wanting rebellion doesn't means having a secret service that kidnaps people in the night

Too bad they did the undemocratic thing of also purging and making the religious "disappear" while they were at it, otherwise they might've been more sympathetic.

@apsifox5874 Which is why we have Constitutional limitations in my country. So nutjobs can't do that.

@davidw.2791 Regardless, I think the issue is that the USSR specifically suppressed people while the Church doesn't have that kind of power. At least, used to not have that kind of power considering Poland's current state...still not as bad as under the USSR tho, for sure.
