@midoevil7 Countries backing coups are pretty basic bitch throughout history. Most Arab countries gleefully backed coups against their rivals, for example.

@wei270 So you're saying the US should have allowed Iraq to take Kuwait? Maybe you're also implying the US should allow Iran to blockade the Strait of Hormuz? Or maybe you're implying the US should not have stopped Israel repeatedly from taking over more Palestinian territory? I'm all for calling out US missteps, but acting like all US actions in the Middle East were negative does a MASSIVE disservice to history.

@monsieurpatate1573 1) Helping Israel isn't in of itself a negative thing, nor is that even entirely true. The US has many times sabotaged Israel's geopolitical goals in the name of trying to forge a peace and essentially functions as the ONLY check on Israel to begin with 2) I never said the US was intervening to help, where did I ever say that?

@midoevil7 Why are you even assuming he's Western? No education in the world goes into this much depth in general history education to begin with unless they are directly affected. The Middle East is not critical enough to get that much attention, there are other far more important events around this time period for Westerners anyway.
