  1. This series should remind everyone how perception of events change with the time period. The average Irish person at the time of this Easter Rising likely loathed the rebels, but later generations would revere them. Who knows; maybe sometime in the future they will be loathed again? This goes for any event in history; what one day you hate/love may be reversed by future generations. History is hardly a straight line, and neither is our perception of it. For better or for worse.

  5. @Ryan Gingras  Sometimes. Other times people forget and even justify it. Look at China at how it crushed it's revolution, then compare it to Iran. The difference is that one still simmers and the other stopped caring. Economic development helps blunt oppression.
