  1. Why? That quite literally has nothing to do with the bombing of Pearl Harbor. And the annexation of Hawaii, while imperialist, was hardly illegal for the time period. Not much in the way of international law at the time.

  2.  @susakuzero  They were better than Japan at the time. Both had the industrial might to completely overshadow Japan when it was signed. Though it is quite possible that there was a snobbery there since the US and UK were often allied to each other and would not be concerned with each other's power but with the rising powers of other nations like Japan and Germany.

  3. Do not suggest it. Knowing Better is quite leftist and places modern moral understandings on everything in the past; something absurd when trying to understand something. Worse yet, its only done against Western and Western-aligned countries, giving non-Western countries a pass.

  5. Because the Japanese did not have the means to match American Continental industrial might or the British Imperial industrial might. But the nationalists only saw humiliation in this.
