@pax6833 Was America actually bound by a treaty to pay France anything back? Because as far as I'm aware; America never agreed to such a thing -and its well-known that backing something far away won't equate to getting any money back unless its through contract. And America never annulled their alliance either; rather the alliance was based on the King and the war that occurred later was based on a new government. TLDR: America did nothing wrong in this case.
