@testthewest123 Eh, its kinda both. Let's not act like Whites, like all majority groups in power across history and across the planet initially wanted to cede power. It had to be pushed and prodded to it; that isn't to their detriment, everyone in their position have done it when on top. It's to the credit of the US that such changes in an already multicultural society with ingrained issues managed to shift forward peacefully. That doesn't mean there isn't more to be done.

@stevek8829 Your perspective is too narrow. Fact is that other groups face systemic issues as well, such as AA's getting more jail time for the same crime as Whites; or AA's more likely facing violence when facing the police. These are just basic stuff and inequalities. That isn't to say there isn't legal equality, there is, but the Affirmative Action laws are there for a reason. For the sake of a better America, these inequalities must be fought; you shouldn't downplay them. But if you have contention with some of the groups claiming to fight such inequality, then I won't begrudge your disdain of them; BLM has proven to be needlessly violent in practice while ignoring key factors in police brutality/inequality. Always the issue with mass movements when it comes to nuance.

@k.n.fitzwater Institutional Racism is the idea that society has ingrained biases which work to the detriment of the "out group". When speaking of Institutional Racism in the US, free to do so, but don't be ignorant and exclude the fact that it's literally a fact of life across the entire planet. In fact, all things considered, Institutional Racism in the US is amongst the least harmful because people keep talking about it. That's to the US' credit. Most nations flat out ignore/deny its existence and refuse to try and lower such biases. POC cannot do anything in the US without working with other races and with each other, and the term "POC" itself is a braindead term since "POC" just as often have racist issues with each other as the White majority. Me as an Afro Hispanic has faced far more issues with other Blacks and Hispanics than Whites, though obviously not societal-wide issues. For someone seemingly so learned about Institutional Racism, you're astonishingly ignorant about the reality of it both within hte US and outside of it. Get some perspective, you're far too American-centric.

@tannercollins9863 Unfortunately that bit about not dating daughters is always gonna be a thing to thw in-group/out-group. Blacks don't like White boys dating their daughters in my personal experience. Asians only accept other Asians and Whites. Etc, etc. US has done among the best thus far, but only because everyone else is so bad.

@dragonofdanksspacestation7779 US is many things. Predator, protector, angel, demon, etc, etc. The US has a surprising record of saving many lives too, as much as it does taking them. Few nations have the concept to "rebuild former enemies" for example, but people expect the US to do it all the time.

@TA-by9wv There are unfortunate people like you that shame the idea of "American". I won't deny that Whites face issues in the US, and that sometimes they are unfairly blamed, but to act like the complete victim is absurd. Play your game of racism if you want, but the US is my country too -and I accept all colors within as my countrymen. Even gross people like you from the 19th century.
