@dornishred6033 That wasn't a strawman. OP made an assumption to shame people for celebrating this. If OP believes that, then he should provide proof as to why that is the future. It can get better or worse, nobody knows yet.

@malcolmjcullen Utah is forcing women into sheets of cloths and taking away their right to education? News to me. Utah stinks, but its miles ahead compared to Afganistan, let alone current Syria. 🤡

@DrMontague "primitive communism" is a funny bit of historical revisionism, but sure. Sl av ery was not an economic institution in of itself, as very few societies even depended on such a thing since not many grew that large to gain so many. You're missing a dozen systems along the way, one of the most obvious being feudalism. Capitalism has...nothing to do with what you said; the gulf between the rich and poor were far more massive in the past. The wealthy in the past could purchase entire armies, while 99% of people could barely survive. The concept of "absolute poverty" which is almost non-existent in much of the wealthier nations used to be the 99% of humanity. So not only do you have no clue about what you're talking about, you're more upset that there is so much wealth and its not being distributed...when that wealth would never be possible without capitalism to begin with. Because your "alternative" just so happens to drag everyone into the dirt instead of lifting anybody up. Again; you you attribute to capitalism what has been the constant state of humanity, and has only been improved since capitalism came around. It ain't perfect, obviously, but its so far the best we've had.
