@appliancedude63 It was almost entirely black women that spearheaded this trial to begin with. And they did so in the modern day in response to a trial just a generation back -it's kinda different to something that happened in the 40's and 50's where plenty of young men had younger wives.

Wdym? White people get this type of sentencing all the time to the point that it's not news. R Kelly is getting this treatment specifically because he's famous, otherwise you'd never hear about it.

@deewheats2355 No black man gets this type of time for rape either. It has to be consistent and multiple charges wrapped in one for this; which is what R Kelly is guilty of. More to the point; he got away with it the first time so he deserves more sentencing for that alone.

@deewheats2355 This is what I found for jail time for child pornography, which he was convicted of 3 separate times: "Any violation of federal child pornography law is a serious crime, and convicted offenders face severe statutory penalties. For example, a first time offender convicted of producing child pornography under 18 U.S.C. § 2251, face fines and a statutory minimum of 15 years to 30 years maximum in prison." So he's well within the sentencing time of just one case of child pornography, that doesn't even include the child enticement charges he was convicted of. So if anything, R Kelly got off relatively light all things considered. You want over sentencing? Check Al Capone who was sentenced for 11 years for tax evasion which basically never happens. And you know why he was sentenced like that? Because everyone knew it was in reference to the other BS he pulled. That being said, overall yes, blacks face more prison times compared to whites for the same crime; but that gap is miniscule compared to men and women jail time gap for the same crime. Cry me a river, basically; inequality exists but it ain't a big deal in this regard.

@deewheats2355 Elvis and all the men of his generation lived in different times, genius. No black man was arrested for a marriage with a 13 year old back then either. Idk how many times I have to repeat this until it registers for you. "Besides his whole case was fabricated" There it is, FFS. This is why the black community is mocked. You try to make this about race, when this is in reality about you wanting a man to get away with sexual relations with underage girls.

@deewheats2355 I'm Afro-Hispanic myself, and have seen more than enough of racism, so spare me. Also, you're dead wrong; to this day there is no Age of Consent law applying to all 50 States -it's all dependent on the State law. And State laws in Elvis' time barely bothered to outline it. And when they did, they were ill enforced, due to it being culturally acceptable. No black man in Elvis' time got arrested specifically for being with an underage girl. And its obvious that you're just using racism as a cover to hide your defense of R Kelly. He's guilty, and he will rot behind bars as he deserves. It ain't racism. Get over it.
