@Rellikein Yep, there will be no victors; but its better to die fighting rather than be a slave to Russia. You may want to be a slave, but we don't. The US doesn't want to be involved in this at all; it's Russia starting crap where there was none. Russia invaded Ukraine, not the US. Who are you to demand that a people be thrown away to a foreign dictator as if they were pawns to be bought and sold? Where is your humanity, Kremlinbot?

@sinoroman It isn't USA's decision to keep or relinquish "influence" in these nations; they align with the US as a measure to secure independence away from Moscow's grasp. That's their right to do so as democracies.

@Imaxxd22 There are pretty much no Westerners left that defend Russia in the West; they're an endangered species since everyone sees Russia as just another Nazi Germany demanding more and more without end. You don't appease dictators, you fight them even if it kills you. The West likely won't intervene if Ukraine is invaded yet again, but the West WILL economically strangle Russia even more. Maybe place even more troops at the border to keep Russia in check. Then your propaganda will screech about the NATO threat when once again, Russia instigated everything. Pathetic.

@Stychinsky Join CSTO after Russia stole Georgian land and crushed a Kazahk protest; basically USSR 2.0 where Russian tanks have the right to destroy the will of the people whenever they want. CSTO is tantamount to giving up most sovereignty to Russia; and most Eastern European states would sooner die than do that, I think. "Peaceful" invasion of Crimea was because Ukraine did what people are now aware not to do with Russia; give it what they want and hope that Russia stops. You're essentially asking people to do what Ukraine did and just let Russia do whatever they want at the vague hope that they won't be targets; but that obviously doesn't work. So outside of being a Russian puppet or being victimized by Russia -that only leaves joining NATO or at least being associated with it. And what do you know: that's pretty much what everyone chose. Finland will only be safe aligned with the West or in NATO; Finland has zero trust of Russia, and nobody can blame them. By your logic the West has the right to invade Saint Petersburg to "make sure Finland is safe", which is insanity as well. Your imperialist logic is what is causing conflict, first and foremost.

Literally no study on international human rights or democracy notes considers Russia to be anything more than a dictatorship. Bruh, there are Russian laws that make criticizing the government illegal, you boot licker. Russia's freedom index is literally among the lowest on the planet while the US is relatively high, though still not as good as it could be. Baltic nations aren't oppressing Russians, liar. They're promoting their own culture; there is no ban on Russian culture or language -they just aren't being made the privileged group anymore. Considering you literally claimed that Russia is more free than the US, your crying about propaganda is a joke.

@gorillaz112 You really don't need to explain why what he said was wrong when ultimately he bitches that the US is far smarter in how it maintains its alliance system by simply acknowledging their autonomy. You can rightfully complain that the US uses human rights and sovereignty when its convenient, but there is also no question that the nations it has been consistent with in terms of respecting sovereignty thus see the US as their guarantee of independence. Thus Russia has completely destroyed any credibility in these nations and thus seek US backing. You can't say the same in places like Iraq, but in Estonia? US is there at their whim and Russia is seen as a threat; thus Russia has no room to complain.

@Postal Mann NATO never invaded Libya, you Kremlinbot. Individual nations involved in NATO did, but NATO itself never got involved. France and the UK enacted a no fly-zone and bombing campaign, and the US aided later when France requested it.

Your kind of thinking would allow all the restrictions on war from the likes of Geneva Convention be broken without consequence; we live in a lawless world, that doesn't mean we shouldn't TRY and enforce some decency where we can. Russia is not a global empire, nor is China. Hell, not even the US. They're strong powers, with the US being the strongest; but the have limitations and part of the modern evolution of international politics is the need to win support from other nations to enact policy abroad. Russia and China are effectively stuck within their backyards because they have decided to act as you think; that only the big powers matter and they deserve to have a slice of the pie. Sorry, but that era doesn't jive well for the modern one. The US gets away with evil crap because they have effectively won support of most nations on the planet, especially the other big nations. If Russia and China want influence; then they need to at least TRY to look like they respect the sovereignty of neighboring states, lest more align with the US. Fact is that Ukraine, in a dog-eat-dog world, indeed would have no choice but to align with Russia. But this is an era where human rights and sovereignty are important to peoples and nations; so Russia intervening has done nothing but destroy their credibility and further weakened influence in the region. This world is not just the playground of big powers anymore; not even the US with all of that influence can do it all. You're living in the 18th century, its time to move on; and in this case the US is right within that international framework to have the moral highground to step in and Russia can't do shit about it barring make itself an even bigger pariah on the world stage.

@Stychinsky Russia said they didn't have troops in Crimea and lied in something so critical. Russia does nothing but lie, so Finland may not have a choice but to join NATO to ensure Russia can't invade them. This is the issue.

Idk if you know this, but a people is far more than their wealth; and Ukrainians are not so freezing and starving that they're dying, though immigration away from Ukraine to other nations (not Russia anymore) is about standard. Russia is pretty much the same, with millions leaving to the US. So the situation is nowhere near as critical as you're acting. You can't provoke a problem with Russia when the Russian imperialist regime is the one that invades your nation, you boot licker. In fact, that's exactly what Russia is doing; instigating conflict to distract their peasants with tales of being besieged when they're the ones doing the besieging.

Russia wants the US to withdraw from nations of which it has treaty obligations, effectively asking it to betray them.
