@bhalchandra13 US didn't care when Fidel Casto was allied with the USSR, it left Cuba alone. It was when Cuba hosted nuclear missiles that shit hit the fan. And if you haven't noticed, the US never once offered or placed any nuclear weapons near Russia's border. Wow, it's almost like your comparison is complete bullshit!

@cookiessenators3176 "Right to be cocerned" While Russian bots everywhere are saying the West have nothing to worry about with over 100,000 Russian troops near Ukraine's borders??? More than that, Romania actually requested those troops, and who gives a crap that they're ex-Soviet republics?
3
@DiscusvissenRocken I should have clarified "these days" the US has not placed nuclear weapons near Russia's borders. But in reference to the Cuban Missile Crisis; both the US and USSR knew that the nuclear weapons on Turkey were going to be decommissioned already; so the USSR was never in any danger of them to begin with. The USSR requested them in exchange to save face, that's all.

@MrVioletpandora What a braindead number. NATO wasn't even involved in Syria, and US involvement was relatively minor compared to the other powers involved too lol

@WolfQuantum Sorry, but as a current US soldier, hard disagree. It's a cold day in hell when US military is ever deployed to "police" a border. That's not our jobs, and should never be our jobs unless soldiers are crossing in an invasion. Let the National Guard handle that in that case, but not the Active Army. We have to defend our allies, so don't shame us by advocating otherwise.
2
Why would we do that if our allies are at stake and Ukraine is specifically calling on the US for aid? Unless you're the Ukrainian President you should shut up. Better question; why is Russia there? Ukraine didn't ask them to be involved.
2
@teghbir6666 Considering by every metric the US is stronger than Russia, you're a little delusional. Russia fears the US for good reason; it wants the US gone, it doesn't want war with the US -which is why it wants NATO gone. It wants to conquer Eastern Europe without US interference. Sorry, but that ain't happening.

@ellavanr632 This is a complete lie, wtf? Where did Ukraine want to host NATO nuclear weapons???
1
@ngashjr There are literally no US nukes pointed at Moscow outside of West Germany, where they've always been. Nor are they any new planned ones. Putin is just spreading this lie and people are just eating it up like muppets.
1
@ellavanr632 Yes, they can, and they won't. US had the option to do so for the past 3 decades and never chose to do so. Hell, US troops barely touched Eastern Europe prior to 2014 - in RESPONSE to Russia's invasion of Ukraine. So Russia is literally creating the circumstances its complaining about to begin with.
1
@ellavanr632 And there are nukes pointed at the US, so what? The time is even shorter for Berlin and Warsaw, who are literally neighboring Russian nukes pointed at them. Why is Russia's "concerns" so pressing that they get to do that? Hell, NATO can do that right now with Poland.
1
Why does Russia's concerns stomp all over the concerns of literally all of their neighbors? What if our "concern" is that you're independent, and we believe you should be under our occupation? Would you indulge my nation for peace then? xD
1
@cowfishblobfish Huh? That makes no sense. A border can't request crap, and Russia was in no danger from an invasion with 100,000 troops amassing near their border. Meanwhile Poland, Romania, and the Baltics are forced to watch Russia amass 100,000 troops and people like you act like the US bringing 3,000 troops is aggression. Your hypocrisy is literally the most obvious thing in the world.
1
@aniawalczak1168 Impossible to provoke someone that brings 100,000 troops to the borders, tbh.
1
@cookiessenators3176 It does, but not at the cost of invading other democracies. All NATO states joined willingly, with Russian neighbors doing so in response to Russian imperialism. Russia promised to accept Ukrainian sovereignty via the Budapest Memorandum, so cry me a river about lying, deceiving, and warmongering. Russia does plenty.
1
@HLMAX So will Russia, apparently. It can do nothing but complain about a measly 3,000 troops after deploying 100,000. Just how weak is Russia, exactly?
1
@teghbir6666 Deploying 100,000 troops near another nation is already threatening to start a world war. So I find that logic absurd. They instigate more conflict when things were static, and NOW they worry?
1
@WolfQuantum Not exactly willing, but if mass riots broke out then we might have to be called in; though that would be extreme and I would also count the use of the NG for that. Active duty has no reason to be in the US twiddling its thumbs.
1
@tanushkaagarwal1704 It's next to nations that have links to Ukraine which are a part of NATO, genius. Also, Ukraine was actively seeking to join the EU, and is now constantly asking NATO for aid. This is literally their problem.
1
@jimcole6423 Not really. Just don't like the absurd idea that we should be leaving our allies to hang. Why are you so treacherous as to do that? Why do you hate them?
1
Zanadu Mandrake Who gives a crap about the biggest arsenal? US still has enough to destroy the planet under nuclear fallout. What are you, from the 1960's? That's a stupid question.
