@Juiceman-fz6pm US actually forgave most of the debt the British had, what are you talking about? Most countries that got Marshall Aid money repaid pieces of it back with most of it being forgiven. UK paid back something like £4 Billion while the value of the money given to the UK was at £27 Billion. The UK took so long to pay it back because it was doing tiny installments, genius. And the US was already the most wealthiest country on the planet prior to WW2, in fact the war made it one of the most indebted nations on the planet with something like 110% debt to GDP at the time. The "gains" from the war were geopolitical, but the idea that it should bend backwards more for its allies when it already tied itself into pretzels via the Marshall Plan is peak braindead.

@Jester-Riddle The cost of rebuilding Germany wasn't written off at all, that's British propaganda. Germany had to pay off 1/3 of its debt from the US post-war. UK was not that different, and the "technology drain" was a simple fact born of the geopolitics of the time; the US had the currency and capital to make do with more. WW2 practically collapsed the old powers of Western Europe.

@idleishde6124 British concept of "Special Relationship" effectively just demands US obedience to British policy. After all, the concept was born when the UK forced the US into BOTH world wars to begin with. While the British and Canadians helped in the Manhattan Project, the British also implanted spies in the project such as William Penney while FDR fully intended to meet his end of the deal. Truman was unaware of the under the table dealing when the Atomic Energy Act of 1946 was signed. But yes, the "Special Relationship" is one-sided. But often times in the British imagination, the only time its NOT one-sided is when the US does the UK's bidding. Be honest.

Yeah, US wants nothing to do with that. Any move in either direction and people would be screeching about US starting coups again, even if justified.

@SoloRenegade Russian gov are fascist. US Democrats are Social Democrats/Neoliberals at best, not Communist. Chinese CCP is...kinda Communist, so that's okay.

@jamesgoacher1606 UK only paid a fraction of what was given to them, so if this is a money making scheme in that effect; it's a shit one. And no matter what, somebody is gonna profit from this, that's a given, so bringing it up makes little sense.

@pertpesc7058 Fascism exists everywhere, but only very few countries have actual fascists leading policies in countries. Ukraine is not one of them, while Russia 100% is one of them. So why are you using Kremlin propaganda by deflecting for the real fascist government?

@pertpesc7058 Bruh, Russia literally every major opposition leader to Putin has either been disqualified or "mysteriously died". They have shut down all independent media within the country and have limitations on accessing media outside the country. Russia literally declared it wants to destroy the Ukrainian identity and denies its right to exist. The stuff you mentioned? Either didn't happen or are extreme exaggerations. The media station that was shut down was a single one, and the same one that was aligned with the "#2" opposition leader -and it was people that were trying to align with Russia AFTER they have already invaded in 2014. That's called being a traitor, at that point. And where are Russians and gypsies being eradicated? Where are the mass graves? The policies eradicating the Russian language and culture in its entirety? Because if you are arguing that having your own language being taught first is "fascism", then most of the planet is "fascist" by your definition. Ukrainians have the same religion as Russia, you propagandist. Russian is still being taught too. And their culture is fine. Stop your lies. There is literally nothing behind your claims. You are a prime example of the German that believed in Hitler unironically -disgusting.
