@lazioboy01 Or it means promoting so much unity when there is a lack of it means that any true Union is impossible and thus the EU should just return to an economic bloc rather than any semblance of a political entity? I'm not saying that's the case; but arguments can be made for both.

@lazioboy01 What if it's too many members? I'm pretty sure plenty of EU members rn don't want closer integrations; so doing that would only cripple the EU from what it could have become. Just 30 years ago any talk of closer union was considered a conspiracy theory and a joke; that's how little it was regarded. Now it's openly spoken of. Progress. Do whatever you want, I ain't European, but that strikes me as unwise if you want a strong and united EU in the future.

@lazioboy01 Yeah, but most people also want that along with their national identity and policies becoming beholden to a bigger state that doesn't represent them. That's why poor nations exist and don't form stronger and bigger unions; because of that understandable fear. The Brits literally proved that, and while Euro independence movements are smaller than before Brexit, they're still plenty there.
