@kostas0352 They are a major power, but they are not the near number 1 or 2 power like they used to be. They aren't a match for the US, Russia, China, or the UK. Compared to what they used to be; it's a step down.

@mochalo4912 West never made such a promise and most assuredly never signed a treaty. Russia has no right to force countries into war to stop them joining NATO, all they're doing is proving these countries right in joining NATO in the first place.

@hermantansri4738 US annexing Hawaii was before the advent of international law, smart one. No one is telling Russia to leave Siberia since that was before international law too. It's in everyone's interests to not allow countries to just take territories anymore, but Russia apparently forgot the memo.

@hermantansri4738 Unless the world tells Russia to leave Siberia, you have no room to argue that the US is a hypocrite in this.

And we always will, which is why the US supports allies abroad so it never actually reaches US shores. Still, better to fight and be independent rather than submit to Russia meekly.
