The US also acts to further their own interests while they just sit there. An arrangement that stops both Japan and Germany from contemplating getting nuclear weapons.

There has been a BIG debate in that country about whether to abolish it or not, and the Americans are not involved. You're about 70 years too late for that. Uh, no there isn't a provision that allows the US to steal Japanese territory. And for the record; there aren't actually that many rape cases at all. In fact, I think the Americans have a lower rape case compared to the general population -the issue is in how they're prosecuted and in that they are foreigners. The Japanese in general WANT the Americans there, but the locals are divided about it, obviously. Having a big base of foreigners near you is bound to ruffle feathers.

Uh, no. There is no comparison in the West in the sheer amount of journalist-killings and disappearances of opposition groups to the main party in power. Nor is there any comparison to the amount of suppression.
