@swampy lamp What? China doesn't have a monopoly on rare earth minerals at all. Many countries have it in greater abundance. The Chinese just practically enslave their own people in getting it and thus its so dirt cheap that its easier to get it from China.

@jackoh5134 I guess by your logic the US isn't a sovereign nation either since the US did nothing when Germany and France spied on the US. You people just want to get your kicks at shitting on the US lol
5
@TubersAndPotatoes And apparently everyone forgot that European allies spy on the US too. It's almost as if people are trying to make a political point by ignoring some inconvenient facts.
4
@harryjessen It's for Denmark. The US allows European countries to spy on the US as well, so they likely got some information out of this. This is not news, but Europeans seem to have short-term memory.
3
@John_Doe448 Because every Western country spies on each other, you Anti-American weirdo. Everyone bitched when the US was caught spying, and then suddenly went silent and got amnesia when Germany and France were caught spying on the US in turn. This is an open secret between allies; and now that amnesia is at work again to conveniently forget this fact.
3
Psych Out "All lies" So nytimes and france24 are both lying news sites now?
3
@RezaurRatul It'll be suicide for Europe too.
3
@ericpoeperic Most Americans don't care. No American complained when it came out that Germany and France spied on the US, because its understood that allied nations do it all the time. But Europeans need to feel morally superior, so they get amnesia and forget about that.
2
@wavyy Not even superpowers. European countries spy on each other and on the US too.
2
@hangtuah2.036 US is protecting Asia from Chinese imperialism atm, so...
2
Essentially, yes. And no alliance is strictly built on trust. Germany spies on its allies as well, as do France, and pretty much everyone. They've been caught like 4 years ago.
2
Kitty Cat China is a literal genocidal and imperialist racial supremacist country. The West doesn't need to feel superior; by the simple fact is tries to get various racial and ethnic groups to get along; it IS better.
2
Kitty Cat China is committing genocide. China is trying to steal territory from US allies. China has been stealing US intellectual property for decades. China has been using the predatory neo-colonialist splurging tactic to weaken US industries for their own. China continues to oppress minorities in a fashion not seen since the US' Jim Crow. US invaded Yugoslavia and Somalia to stop genocide. Afghanistan War was defensive since it supported Al Qaeda's attack on the US and protected them. Everything else is more reasonable criticisms. Japan destroyed the Japanese economic miracle, if you ever bothered to look up what caused it. Its bubble was popped quite a bit after the Platt Amendment. Committing human rights violations is hardly "refusing to submit to American rule". Russia, China, and Iran are threats to US allies worldwide and will be opposed until they break from their dictatorships and calm down. They are beacons of tyranny. Literally all human rights organizations have noted this already. Their oppression is common knowledge across the planet. You can't win.
2
@david-bd6td Why would they feel guilty? Europeans spies on their allies too. Literally everyone but Europeans seem to know this, damned hypocrites.
2
@ongbookok9320 It'll look terrible if they do since European countries were found spying on the US as well, and the US didn't even bother to say anything about it.
2
@nickyliu8762 Assange was already a criminal to the US. Sending government critical information is something few countries can allow. It wasn't about him being a sex offender, it just made it harder to defend him.
1
@marktn9851 Because they're enemies that use industrial espionage to steal patented ideas and technology. The US doesn't complain when allies are found spying on them. Zero credibility in China and Europe, for trying to frame this as even an issue.
1
@marktn9851 Uh, no, they're most assuredly not. China is not the same as the US, and the EU is not the same as China. They act differently according to the limitations of their governments and the culture they inhabit. China CANNOT be allowed to become the sole superpower. It's already imperialist and aggressive despite not having the power to truly beat the US at all. It'll only get worse if it becomes unchallenged one day. Besides, even if it wasn't a threat, it's still much worse to steal industrial and technological innovations.
1
@nymeriafrost7687 US cares about rules and maintains many of them, but it doesn't care as much as long as they're allied. US didn't complain about German spying on the US, for example.
1
@zhikangchen1063 Using patented information is theft, not free. Western allies spy on each other all the time, and the US doesn't complain about it. Europeans complaining about it are doing so out of naivety and Anti-US sentiment while ignoring their own countries spying on the US. But China outright steals patented information, and NOBODY is alright with that.
1
Psych Out You literally are going around and denying reality, literal trusted sources. Is everything that is not Anti-US a lie to you?
1
@kennyng2289 Why does all my comments giving you sources get deleted? :I
1
@kennyng2289 Well, look up "germany spied on the US" and you'll find articles from sites like Newsweek and Der Spiegel. France24 has an article about France spying on the US too if you want proof. I tried citing it to you 3 times and they just disappeared.
1
EU literally spies on each other and the US too, you hypocrite. The US doesn't care.
1
@naurasal9165 Yes.
1
@HarshitASrivastava6410 And I'm sure you have a source for this frankly ludicrous claim. No time in human history has any country literally controlled ALL of a resource.
1
@HarshitASrivastava6410 Well? Can you cite proof of that?
1
@smithwerber414 Source please. I know about all of this, but I'm also aware that other countries have deep mining as well. So how is China the "majority holder"?
1
@njubasamuel13 Because China is the enemy, and the West are allies. No American cared when Germany and France were caught spying on the US. We care a lot more when China does.
1
Psych Out I literally posted proof to you in two other comments. Either acknowledge those or quit responding to me.
1
@Oxyleya What are you talking about? Please be clear, because there were multiple conversations I was engaged in.
1
@wishfulguy4819 There are literal people commentators claiming that the world has been attacked by "the West for hundreds of years" and you find the time to specifically call me childish and ignorant? Skewed priorities. Make a point, or don't reply, kid. Pick one.
1
@xueueux If we're referring to the US, then its hardly a "white government". Hasn't been one in a long time. But I suppose an entirely Asian government wouldn't know that, would they? Let's not talk about racism between a country like the US or even generally Western countries when comparing them to the Far Eastern countries. They're like night and day in regards to race issues, not in the Far East's favor.
1
@sunflu You guys are literally stealing territory from your allies and you claim you're more forgiving? You're literally the worst. Even the Philippines, which was literally a shill for China in 2018, was forced to become defensive against China. China doesn't need to invade, it just needs to conquer. As it has been doing for all of its history.
1
@RezaurRatul Russia has made moves to threaten Europe, or at least bring chaos to it. 2014 proved that much.
1
@T1kr3b3u All countries act self-righteous. China is acting like its innocent when its stealing territories from other countries. Russia is acting innocent while ding the same. And yet you hypocrites don't cry about that, do you?
1
@dexterdr.7020 Well, duh. US didn't exactly steal territory from a democracy recently while paying its Russian agent to break into US top secret information computers.
1
@868freeman8 Russia committed more wars than the US, and unlike Russia, the US actually helped end many wars and helped democracies exist peacefully. By every metric, Russia is a far more violent state entity to world peace.
1
@charlesscott4722 I could. But the list is quite literally too long. Russian imperialism has been quite fervent across time with mass genocides or pogroms being committed often. Meanwhile, the Americans at least can talk about saving huge swaths of the world and bringing them unprecedented prosperity while saving millions of lives with USAID. The lives saved count has reached over 100+ Million. Russia has no comparison. But I'm sure you will copy+paste that meme of US wars/coups to "disprove" me or something.
