@BoleDaPole Because Russia has a habit of sending troops in to force people in making the "right" choice, just like in Moldova, Crimea, and Donbas. Maybe the US should do the same in Siberia or Kaliningrad? You'd screech and, for once, be rightly upset if the US did that; but you hypocritically ignore it when Russia does it.
2
@octavia7408 That's not hypocrisy, you troll. You can't call for independence when a foreign army marches in and forces it on you.
2
@octavia7408 Cuba having a missile base was never a threat to the US. It was Russian nukes that was a threat, and the US has never tried to do that after that crisis. Russian missile bases and military bases in Cuba remained after the crisis; you are entirely a hypocrite.
2
@octavia7408 Then the US can return the favor, but they won't precisely because the US can return it tenfold. You wish for them to screw themselves over is funny, since most Latin American nations would reject them while most of Asia and Europe would agree if the US asked for it. Pathetic "Superpowers", eh? And the US doesn't place nukes near Russia or China, how is that hypocrisy? You're just a brainwashed tool.

Great. What compromise can we make to a madman that wants NATO to withdraw from most of Eastern Europe against their wishes, literally abandoning them?

@tsugumorihoney2288 There WERE neutral, then Russia invaded them! This is why we can't trust Russia at all.
1
@tsugumorihoney2288 Yeah, so strong that in June 2009 an opinion poll in Ukraine has them have a 91% positive opinion to Russia. September 2011: 80%. Jan 2012: 86%. April 2013: 70%. Their "dislike" ratio has been consistently below 13%, btw. Know when that changed? 2014. Approval of Russia fell to a staggering 35% and their disapproval rose to 60%. Ukrainians LOVED Russia until 2014, you muppet. And Russia effectively stomped on them for it, ruining relations for generations to come. Ukraine was at maximum, neutral, at worst still Russian-aligned; and Russia ruined it and is no acting like they're the victim.
1
@akkafietje137 Donald would have likely just abandoned Ukraine to begin with; meaning war would have occurred faster.
1
This isn't Russia getting its act together, this is it making an angry tirade about wanting to have the right to beat his wife after she ran away to a friend's home.
1
@TheZachary86 NATO "expands" the same way that police service protection expands when protecting former rape victims lol
1
@TheZachary86 USSR literally just lied and puppeted all of Eastern Europe. Why would NATO ever accept the USSR into it when it was created to protect them from more puppeting?
1
@ДорианГрей-ъ4ш Finland was indeed fine, but it was well understood that NATO would rush in and help if the USSR did anything. That "no problem" was a constant threat to Finland. And recently, Russia has threatened Finland and Sweden if they ever decided to join NATO, so obviously the concept is dying. Besides, Finlandization means that Ukraine should have been fine for joining the EU, but Russia invaded after the Euromaiden...which was explicitly for joining the EU, not NATO. So Russia doesn't want neutrality, it wants a punching bag.
1
@nathanhiggers4606 I mean, its pretty well known how much journalists "disappear" in Russia.
1
@arminius8631 Then tell Putin to stop trying to instigate a war and withdraw from Ukraine already.
1
@artman12 Yes, just like Biden who has been saying that war is very possible atm due to Russia deploying so many troops nearby.
1
@raymack8767 100,000 troops near Ukraine is provocative 10,000 troops not near Russia's borders is not provocative, tool
1
@ДорианГрей-ъ4ш Russia is not critical to world stability at all; outside of constantly disrupting it. It's disappearance would bring immense peace and comfort for all of their neighbors, plainly.
1
@urdnotwrex6969 This is a complete lie. Immigration from Russia is still massive and Russia has lost millions in population due to it just generally being a horrid place to live in comparison.
1
@jeffberlin4179 Russia's HDI is more comparable to Nigeria's than the US'. Russian immigration to the US is still ludicrously high, what world do you live in that they're anywhere comparable? xD
1
@francoislechanceux5818 Russians have lost their mind, considering how many are claiming Russia is comparable to the likes of France or the US.
1
@Nikolas Benko If the US wanted to pull the EU into a war, it would deploy 100,000 troops near Russia's borders...instead its Russia doing that, and yet you still claim its the US trying to instigate? Are you insane?
1
@Nikolas Benko Everything you don't like is done by the CIA< giving you the right to butcher anyone that you don't like. Such a nice bootlicker. Maybe anything the US doesn't like is done by Russian secret service, giving the US the right to crush it too now? You're such an utter hypocrite.
1
@richardong1421 You: "Russia won't attack Ukraine" Francous: "Russia already did" You: "BUT WUT ABOUT MURICA THO????" You're pathetic dude. We're talking about Russia here, nobody is bringing up Russia in Syria, Afghanistan, Libya, Georgia, or recently Kazakhstan. Fact is that Russia already attacked Ukraine, hid it from anyone, and now the US says it might do it again, and you act like they're being hysterical when they have already done it.
1
@jeffberlin4179 Putin defends family and family values by threatening anyone that doesn't fall in line with his version of it; that's not family, that's dictatorship, and its pathetic. You come from a loving family and your response is to force a cruel family on others via government tyranny. Pathetic, you don't have family values. Putin is an imperialist dog, and his country will suffer more and more as he continues this insanity; besides this was strictly about his actions in placing 100,000 troops near another nation's borders...near another nation he invaded. More economic restrictions and isolation from the international community is to follow, at best. At worst, destruction of many families anyway. Utter hypocrite.
