  1. Iraq had a mere 2k men die throughout 20 years and had no mobilization of troops galvanizing the opposition. A better comparison would be Vietnam, and even in that war the differences are stark with this Ukrainian War.

  3. In 6 months Russia lost what the US lost in 10 years in Vietnam. All while trying to conquer foreign territory while the US was fighting for South Vietnam. In almost every respect the US would have gone full blown revolutionary under such conditions. Losing 50k men and having far more casualties is something Americans can't even consider in anything less than a war for survival.
