@Mi K Germany should still be the leader in Europe, though. The US also needs to do better to include its allies in cooperation. That Eastern Europe turns to the US instead of Germany for support is a troubling aspect, and I hope that Germany is able to regain trust so that it can stand as a strong ally which the US can support in Europe rather than lead. The Greens taking a stand in Europe may seem Pro-American, but its more Pro-German too, imho. The EU, as an American, I feel is the future for Europe anyway.

@lwwells Considering the US is still perfectly functional and is still growing faster than Germany, I'd say that Germany is still a long way to go to ever compare itself to the US. Well, outside of social services anyway. :D

@lwwells It really doesn't matter what the masses consider anything. If the money still works, if the political system still functions, if the the bureaucracy still works, and if government social services still works while the country's people are still well-off; then the country itself is perfectly functional. Mind you, what Americans mean by "the country isn't working" is usually - "the country isn't solving X issue and I want it fixed".
