There is proof that before the birth of the Farming Revolution in human history, that women were worshipped and Fertility Goddesses were the dominant religions on the planet. So in reality, for what may have been a large portion of human history, it's likely women held the majority of the power. That switched when there were enough humans that reproductive powers were no longer as critical, but yeah. Fact is that humans oppressed whoever was "weaker" at the time period.
