@PattyOflan88 That hardly makes it an American perspective. Certain subsects of the US populace do, but do so certain subsects of Western Europe as well. This is a wider phenomenon than just an "American" perspective. This is a "progressive" perspective which doesn't truly encompass borders.

Well, to be fair, the last art student that got into power wasn't voted in at all. He was appointed as Chancellor and then von Hindenberg died, leaving him with virtually absolute power. :D

@2yt4u.14. It's pretty much as important as the Capitol riot a few months ago. And everyone and their mother covered that. And to be frank, Germany has actual far-right politicians in its Parliament in a sizable minority. So it's hardly "very few".

@DaveDahuh Russia deployed 150k troops for 1 week for "military training"? Yeah, imagine being so gullible as to buy that horseshit. I also like that Putin was making noises about "not crossing the red lines or there will be consequences" when NATO did not even deploy more troops to the region. And Russia's justification is in reality about the legitimate NATO military training that was not even at Russia's borders with 28k troops. A fraction of the 150k that Russia deployed. People like you unironically believed Putin when he said that there were no Russian troops in Ukraine in 2014. Think critically.

@DaveDahuh Why would I want that? What I want is for Putin to not keep attacking Eastern European countries. I'm well aware that there were always Russian troops at the border in the midst of NATO exercises and even when NATO wasn't doing exercises; but there was never 150k men. That's enough troops to overwhelm all of Eastern Europe, for God's sakes. That's an EXTREMELY aggressive move. Why can't you understand something so simple?

@DaveDahuh That's like saying that if a drunk father beats their family, that no outsiders have a right to intervene because its an internal family affair. Uh, no. Morally speaking, you have every right. They're people, regardless of their backgrounds. And one of them is requesting aid, justifiably so. The US thus, has every right to be there. Edit: Also, just because they're "brothers", that doesn't give them the right to take a part of their country. Your logic is either seriously skewed in general, or seriously skewed towards Russia.

@DaveDahuh Depends on the situation and what you mean by "far worse". Nothing is worse than being an imperialist and stealing territory from another country in the modern era. You're essentially stealing their future and justifying further war in the future. Only thing worse is genocide. That being said, that's a separate conversation. We're talking about Russia's actions, not the US'. So your whataboutism isn't appreciated. I'm only "for" war with Russia if Russia attacks Ukraine. In which case, Russia will have its war. Until then; I'm all for just having troops there as insurance, in case Russia gets that stupid.

@revisit8480 Not sure why seeing too many whites is an issue, weirdo. But it seems some people do have an issue with seeing too many non-whites. No one should have an issue with either.
