@secondaryaccount7431 They never promised that, and even Gorbachev denies they said that. Putin claimed many years AFTER the fact to justify their imperialism. They did promise not to have troops in East Germany. Which they kept.

@andreaserafini1688 1) No they weren't 2) Russian "red line" seems to mean that Russia is allowed to conquer every country it doesn't like. If West claims that Russian invasion was a NATO "red line", then you would support a NATO occupation of Kaliningrad?

@JohnKerrashVirgo Simple; you deflect from Russia's actions, which are far worse. If Ukraine was the one invading Russia, and you dismissed their actions by talking about Russia's actions, then you'd rightfully be looked at dimly.
