@persianguy1524 The low birth rates thing has more to do with the wealth of the society than anything else; China was since the 20th century was not exactly religious and had high birth rates; then it fell drastically as it got wealthier.

@persianguy1524 Fair enough, but those are oil states; and in many ways don't have advanced economies outside of fossil fuels. Truly first-world countries have diversified economies for a reason; when the oil money runs out I doubt these nations will continue to be wealthy.

@persianguy1524 And those "rich states" tend to have a very low GDP per capita for its people compared to the actual first-world countries.

@madeachanneljustcauseican3968 In every study ever, Malaysia is a quasi-dictatorship. It's "democratic scene" is not even comparable to the US.

@madeachanneljustcauseican3968 You're partially right, I was thinking of Myanmar prolly when I responded, but the Democracy Index you used is prolly the only one with Myanmar that high. If we use FreedomHouse, it's far less charitable to Malaysia. Either way; at no point is Malaysia considered better or healthier than its US counterpart -which was my entire point.
